The Friends Reunion Is Coming — But Where Is Paul Rudd?

Friends Reunion

Friends: The Reunion is set to debut on May 27 (PST) with the entire cast “returning to the iconic comedy’s original soundstage, Stage 24, on the Warner Bros Studio lot in Burbank for a real-life unscripted celebration of the beloved show”.

While we truly couldn’t be any more excited for this, we can’t help but pinpoint a glaring omission from the returning cast list. Paul Rudd.

While the core cast will be there — Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer — fans will also be treated to special guest stars including Reese Witherspoon, who played Rachel’s sister Jill Green and Tom Selleck, who played Monica’s much older boyfriend, Richard Burke. Elliott Gould, who played the Geller’s father, Jack, will also be returning with his TV wife, Christina Pickles, who played Judy.

However, Rudd, who was a beloved addition to the hit series, will not be present for the special event and fans are not quite sure how to respond.

Rudd joined the long-running series during its ninth season where he played Mike Hannigan, a love interest for Phoebe Buffay.

The (ageless) 52-year-old was not only a guest star, but he was so popular that he stayed on and the fictitious pair got married in the final series.

In fact, he was so important, that Rudd even participated in the final scene! While we’re not quite sure why he was missing from the reunion lineup, we’re going to bet he was asked, however, couldn’t partake due to scheduling conflicts.

Other notable missing cast members missing from the line-up include Jane Sibbett who played Carol, Ross’s ex-wife, Jessica Hecht, who played Susan Bunch, Carol’s wife, Dylan and Cole Sprouse who played Ross’s son Ben and Eddie Cahill, who played Tag.

While these actors will certainly be missed, other celebrities appearing alongside the announced cast include David Beckham, Justin Bieber, BTS, James Corden, Cindy Crawford, Cara Delevingne, Lady Gaga, Kit Harington, Larry Hankin, Mindy Kaling, Thomas Lennon, Maggie Wheeler and Malala Yousafzai.

There’s still no word on how to watch the reunion in Australia, but we’re keeping our eyes peeled!
