In news to make you feel very old today — Will Smith’s Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is turning 30 this year.
To celebrate, the original cast is reuniting at HBO Max — where the Friends reunion is also set to take place.
Series star Smith will be joined by cast members Tatyana Ali (Ashley Banks), Karyn Parsons (Hilary Banks), Joseph Marcell (Geoffrey Butler), Daphne Maxwell Reid (Vivian Banks), and Alfonso Ribeiro (Carlton Banks) with a special guest appearance by DJ Jazzy Jeff.
There’s no word on how they will honour James Avery, who played the patriarch of the Banks family, Philip, who passed away on December 31, 2013.

The special is set to be recorded on September 10 and will launch around November on HBO Max in the US, which means it will most likely end up on Binge in Australia.
Back in April, Smith was joined by the cast for his Snapchat series Will From Home, where the cast members got together over Zoom.
Earlier this month, it was announced that Smith had teamed up with Morgan Cooper for a new drama series, Bel-Air.
The concept is based on a viral YouTube trailer by Cooper, which was released in 2019 and looked at what would happen if Smith made The Fresh Prince today.
“Bel-Air, a story of a kid from Philly whose life got turned upside-down… in 2019,” the caption for the trailer read.
The series is described as an hourlong dramatic retelling of the beloved ’90s sitcom that leans into the original premise of Will’s complicated journey from the streets of West Philadelphia to the gated mansions of Bel-Air.
