Step aside, Kmart. These days, when it comes to homewares, Big W has been giving its discount store competitor a run for its money, stocking seriously stylish and, more importantly, good quality home items, from bedroom furniture and lamps, to rugs, vases and mirrors.
This week though, just in time for spring, Big W took it up a notch, unveiling a new capsule collection with iconic Australian artist Florence Broadhurst, who is best known for her colourful, bold wallpaper designs.
The collection includes bed linen, towels, tableware, furniture, décor, bath and body and, as you’d expect from Big W, it’s all super affordable.
“We are so excited to collaborate with the team at Florence Broadhurst to create a beautiful range of homewares, inspired by the designs and patterns of the talented and iconic Australian artist,” says Mitchell Armitt, Big W’s Head of Commercial – Everyday & Home.
For the kitchen, pick up one of two patterns of ceramic mugs for $8 or a 12-piece dinner set in a palm tree print blue and white for $79. For the bedroom, grab pillowcases starting from $15, and quilt cover and sheet sets from $59.
“With great pieces starting at just $7, we have all the essentials to add a pop of colour or bold pattern to you this spring.”
Décor and fragrance-wise, the collection also includes diffusers for $29, and couch cushions and candles for $29. Browse the whole collection here.
While you’re at Big W, check out their range of rattan furniture (this $199 occasional chair, in particular), jute rugs starting at $125 and lamps, particularly this $39 tortoiseshell glass table lamp, that’s guaranteed to get you some décor compliments.
