It’s been a season of The Bachelorette Australia for the history books, and tonight, Brooke Blurton has selected Darvid as as the one she wants by her side.
“Darvid, from the moment I met you, I felt a lot of feelings. I felt calm, I felt trusting, I felt an instant connection and chemistry that I’ve never ever felt with anyone before. Darvid, I don’t know how to say this. You came in here and granted me three wishes, and I still have one left. Darvid, will you make me the happiest girl…” said Brooke before bursting into tears.
Ecstatic, Darvid replied: “I genuinely have known from the first moment I met you it was going to be the start of something special. I’ve completely fallen in love with you as you know. I want you to always feel loved and I want you to always feel supported.”
Of course, it wouldn’t be a Bachelorette finale without someone getting rejected, and unfortunately, that was Jamie-Lee role to play.
This was Brooke’s third round in the Bachelor universe, after appearing on Nick “Honey Badger’s” Cummins’ season of The Bachelor, where she made the controversial decision to leave the show, and a short stint on Bachelor in Paradise, which proved unfruitful in the romance department.
Brooke’s time as the Bachelorette has been groundbreaking in many ways, as the franchise’s first bisexual, Indigenous Bachelorette.
Speaking to POPSUGAR Australia, Brooke opened up about her “amazing” time on the show.
“I try not to go in with a lot of expectations with things, I think I did that with The Bachelor and even Bachelor In Paradise,” Brooke said. “I think this time around I was a little bit more determined and didn’t put too much pressure on myself.
“I just really wanted to throw myself and lean into the experience,” she explained.
“I thoroughly enjoyed it, I loved every moment. Even though I couldn’t have my family there, production became my family. Overall it was amazing.”
As for what she was looking for in a partner, Brooke said that she wanted someone “truly genuine and authentic to themselves”.
“I think that’s a really attractive trait to have and someone who doesn’t try to be someone they’re not,” she said.
Let’s hope for a long-term fairytale romance for Brooke and Darvid!
