‘Barbie’ and ‘The Morning Show’ Lead the 2024 Critics Choice Nominations

Barbie leads the Critics Choice nominations 2024

The Critics Choice Award nominations for 2024 are here, and once again, it’s a Barbie world, and we’re all just living in it. The film picked up a whopping 18 nominations in the film categories. Meanwhile, Apple TV‘s The Morning Show is leading the television nominees, with six nominations.

Of course, at this point it seems we can’t talk about Barbie without also discussing Oppenheimer, which followed Barbie with 13 nominations. Beyond the Barbenheimer phenomenon, Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon also did well, with 12 nominations.

In television, the final season of Succession followed The Morning Show with five nominations, including Best Drama Series, as well as acting nods for Kieran Culkin, Jeremy Strong, Sarah Snook, and Matthew MacFadyen.

The Critics Choice Association (CCA) is comprised of broadcast, radio and online critics as well as entertainment journalists. When it comes to award season, the Critics Choice Awards are considered one of the major precursor awards in the lead up to the Academy Awards. In 2024, the Critics Choice Awards will take place on January 14 (January 15 in Australia). The ceremony will be hosted by Chelsea Handler.

How to Watch the 2024 Critics Choice Awards in Australia

On January 15, Australians will be able to watch the 2024 Critics Choice Awards live, on demand, and only on Stan.

The glitz and glam will kick off at 10am AEDT with an hour of red carpet coverage, and the award ceremony will stream live from 11am AEDT.
