Cottagecore, also called farmcore and countrycore, is an aesthetic inspired by an old-fashioned, rural lifestyle. Though first made popular on TikTok in 2020, during lockdowns when we had no choice but to embrace simplicity, it’s a trend still going strong today, both in fashion and homewares.

“As a concept, it embraces a simpler, sustainable existence that is more harmonious with nature,” Davina Ogilvie, founder of Wovn Home, told Architectural Digest back in 2020. “Aesthetically, it’s a nod to the traditional English countryside style, romantic and nostalgic.”
