One woman’s cereal storage hack is so good, even cereal connoisseur Jerry Seinfield would approve.

The four-step folding hack is designed with cereal freshness in mind and helps to stop air from creeping into your boxes and making your morning flakes stale.

Becky Holden McGhee, from Blackpool in the UK, shared a video of her ingenious method on Facebook recently with the caption:

“It’s only taken me 40 years, but I now know the correct way to close a cereal box.
Genius. It takes seconds, no more dried up cereal and ugly torn boxes to greet me every morning.”

Holden McGhee’s original post has been met with a viral response. Her cereal box folding tutorial has been viewed over three million times, has over 18k reactions, 111k shares, and some 300 comments from impressed online users at the time of writing.

And people around the world are following her lead. Facebook users in the US, Holland, and Australia have all taken to posting photos of their newly folded cereal boxes under her post with messages of thanks for the quick and easy tip.

“This is going in the book of things I’ve learned in lockdown,” one commenter shared, while another added: “You have got to be kidding me! My cupboards will be clean — no bits of cereal all over and it won’t go soft! Genius!”
