2023 is off to a sad start with the death of Lisa Marie Presley, the only child of Elvis and Priscilla Presley. She was 54.

“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” Priscilla said in a statement.

“She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known.”

On Thursday night (local time), news broke that Lisa Marie had been rushed to hospital, following a report of a woman in full cardiac arrest, per a spokesman for the county’s fire department. Property records indicate that Lisa Marie was a resident of the address.

Just days ago, Lisa Marie attended the 80th Annual Golden Globes, where Baz Luhrmann‘s Elvis was nominated.

At the ceremony, Austin Butler won Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for his portrayal of Lisa Marie’s late father Elvis.

In his acceptance speech, Butler thanked the Presley family, who were vocal supporters of Luhrmann’s film and Butler’s performance.

“The Presley family, thank you guys for opening your hearts, your memories, your home to me,” he said.

“Lisa Marie and Priscilla, I love you forever.”

Lisa Marie is survived by her mother Priscilla and her three daughters, Riley Keough, 33, and twins Harper and Finley Lockwood, 14. Lisa Marie’s son, Benjamin Keough, died by suicide in 2020.
