Iconic actress Jamie Lee Curtis has nabbed the 2023 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her work in top nominated film Everything Everywhere All at Once.
After an illustrious career in Hollywood that has spanned decades, the first time Oscar nominee was awarded the coveted gong after playing IRS tax agent Deirdre Beaubeirdre.
She was up against a talented group of nominees for the award, including Hong Chau (The Whale), Kerry Condon (The Banshees of Inisherin), Angela Bassett (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever) and Stephanie Hsu (Everything Everywhere All at Once).
The 64-year-old actress tearfully accepted the golden statue while thanking her fans for their support throughout her career.
“To all of the people who have supported the genre movies that I have made for all these years, the thousands and hundreds of thousands of people, we just won an Oscar together!” she said.
Curtis also went on to acknowledge her famous parents, Hollywood royalty, Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh, “and my mother and my father were both nominated for Oscars in different categories. I just won an Oscar!”
