Looking to do something different? You wouldn’t be alone. According to data from SEEK, 41% of Australians say they are likely to change jobs in 2021, whether for reasons pertaining to salary, a changed interest, or in order to achieve a better work-life balance.
When looking for a new role, it’s not just the title that counts. More and more, people want to work for companies with an admirable culture or values aligned to their own; businesses with employee support programs like matched giving, training budgets and health and wellbeing programs.
Research into an individual company should present you with information like this, but LinkedIn has just announced a shortcut to finding the best companies to work for in Australia.
In its latest 2021 LinkedIn Top Companies list, LinkedIn has ranked the top 25 best workplaces to grow your career. “These 25 companies help employees build a professional foundation that sets them up for success both at the company and beyond,” the release says.
To land on these businesses, LinkedIn measured a number of workplaces according to seven key pillars: ability to advance, skills growth, company stability, external opportunity, company affinity, gender diversity and educational background.
Below are the top 10 Australian Companies to Work for In 2021, with some further stats around employees and the most valued skills required to work there.
1. EY
Ernst & Young or EY is the global leader in assurance, consulting, strategy and transactions, and tax services.
Headcount: 8,348
Locations: Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane
Most common skills: Finance, accounting, risk management
Why it’s a great place to work: EY made no large-scale job cuts during COVID in order to look after staff. It also looks for “change agents and cyber gurus” as well as performance improvers, growth hackers and problem solvers, when it comes to new hires.
2. Singtel
Singtel is the parent of Optus. The telecommunications company offers services including fixed, mobile, data, internet, TV, infocomms technology, and more.
