Cool off from the Gold Coast heat at Ice Bar, a winter wonderland-themed bar, made of 40 tonnes of ice. Everything inside is ice, including the chairs, bar and cocktail glasses. You’re rugged up in gloves, Ugg boots and a snow cape before your 45-minute session inside starts. Though the bar does serve alcoholic drinks (ice-cold, of course), it’s also family-friendly.

Mirror Bar, Surfer’s Paradise

Mirror Bar in Surfer’s Paradise is the only venue in Australia of its kind. It features mirrors everywhere, including on the floor, ceiling, walls and bar. The bar welcomes guests of all ages, though those under 18 need to be with an adult. A standard ticket allows you entry and a cocktail, while a premium pass gives you entry, a cocktail, a shot and a digital photo of you in the space.

The Island Rooftop, Surfer’s Paradise

The Island Rooftop is the largest rooftop venue on the Gold Coast. Sip a cocktail as you gaze out at Surfer’s Paradise skyscrapers. The rooftop hosts a Saturday grazing lunch and a Sunday bottomless brunch. It’s open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Bring your swimmers — it also has a pool.

Hyde Paradiso, Surfer’s Paradise

Hyde Paradiso also in Surfer’s Paradise has oceanfront views and pops of pastels. Tropical foliage, neon lights and the sparkling sea beyond are the backdrop for a Mediterranean menu. On weekends, DJs hit the decks. The venue’s open seven days a week from 7am breakfast to last dinner bookings at 8:30pm.

Nineteen at the Star, Broadbeach

This rooftop venue is part restaurant, part lounge bar. In the restaurant, chef Michael Crosbie serves dishes from an a la carte and set menu. After dinner, slip into one of the bar’s private booths and be treated to bottle service. Or simply order a cocktail and mingle with other guests on the terrace.

Burleigh Pavilion, Burleigh Heads

Burleigh Pavilion sits on the water in one of the Gold Coast’s trendiest suburbs Burleigh Heads. Its building is also home to pizza restaurant The Tropic and fine dining venue Rick Shores. Expect cocktails like “Takes Two to Tango,” jugs overflowing with lychee rosé and homemade lemonade.

Destino Wine Bar, Hope Island

Destino Wine Bay in Marine Village, Sanctuary Cove was inspired by the islands in the Mediterranean.
