We were blessed by a number of epic LEGO sets in 2020 — from a mini Rosebud Motel inspired by Schitt’s Creek to a Seinfeld-inspired set of Jerry’s apartment.

New releases from the Danish toy company, plus new sets announced to be in the works, are sure to keep us busy and playing for a while, especially with the announcement of this new 1,073 piece build: Baby Yoda from Star Wars: The Mandalorian.

He’s cute albeit a little terrifying, and no doubt an absolute must-have for the home collections of Star Wars obsessives. At just under 20cm tall, ‘The Child’ (as LEGO calls the figure), is around half the size of the film character it’s based on, making it an adorable addition to any side table or desk.

Even more exciting, the Baby Yoda can be personalised with a number of different expressions. It has a posable head, movable ears and an adjustable mouth.

“When I received the challenge to create a LEGO brick-built version of the Child, I knew that I had to get it just right,” Michael Lee Stockwell, design manager, at LEGO, says in a press release.

“The goal was to capture the charm, and above all, the cuteness of the character, so we worked meticulously, choosing and placing each and every brick. We even included authentic details like the gearstick knob – a favourite toy of the Child as seen in the series.”

Baby Yoda comes with an information plaque with details on his height and age, plus a LEGO Minifigure to complete the display.

The building set is available now LEGO.com and at Toys R Us $119.99.
