The Headlines: World Athletics Council Makes a Call on Allowing Trans Athletes

The World Athletics Council and Trans Women

Warning: This section deals with the topic of targeted violence against trans women and may be triggering for some readers.

Transgender women are women. To separate them from other women is an attack and an act of discrimination. What’s more, this is non-negotiable. The existence and welfare of Earth’s humans is never up for debate.

So, with that being said, the World Athletics Council has decided to launch an attack on the bodies of trans women. They have done this by voting to ban trans women from elite female competitions if they went through male puberty.

“Decisions are always difficult when they involve conflicting needs and rights between different groups, but we continue to take the view that we must maintain fairness for female athletes above all other considerations,” said the World Athletics Council’s President, Seb Coe. “We believe the integrity of the female category in athletics is paramount.”

Tragically, this World Athletics Council statement implies that trans women are in no aspects female. It implies that trans women are lying about who they are.

In February, the LGBTQIA+ charity Stonewall noted: “The trans population may be small, but they have every right to participate in sports and enjoy the many physical, mental, and community benefits of sports. The scientific evidence base on trans people in sport is developing but is far from conclusive.”

The YouTube Channel Linus Tech Tips Is Kaput

On the evening of March 23, the Linus Tech Tips YouTube channel was hacked. Linus Tech Tips is a media group that builds computers, does hardware reviews, and discusses cyber security. It has over 15 million subscribers.

A criminal hacking entity replaced Linus Tech Tips’ logo with that of a Tesla logo and began promoting a cryptocurrency scam. At the same time that this was happening, thousands of Linus Tech Tips’ videos were becoming hidden.

Fortunately though, YouTube was able to seize control of this account.

“Regarding the YouTube channel hack, we’re on top of it with Google’s team now,” said Linus Sebastian, the creator of Linus Tech Tips. “Everything should be locked down now, and we are getting to the bottom of the attack.”

Why ChatGPT is Getting an Upgrade

OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT, is now allowing its chatbot to be upgraded with plug-ins. These plug-ins can be downloaded, added to ChatGPT, and used to make it better.

This news has excited folks in the tech sector, as certain plug-ins will allow ChatGPT to interact with information from across the interwebs. Up until now, ChatGPT could only access info that’s from 2021 or before.

What’s more, ChatGPT will hopefully score a plug-in that will reveal where it sources its information from. Or, better yet, OpenAI can just integrate such a feature into the original product. ‘Cause who wants to accidentally spread misinfo in 2023?
