For fans who love romance on reality TV, we can verify that original housemate Christina Podolyan and intruder Brenton Balicki form a very close bond in the Big Brother house. As confirmed by Channel 7, the couple strikes up a more than friends relationship.
While you can watch a snippet of it in the clip below, we spoke to Brenton about his budding romance with the 22-year-old flight attendant, who admitted that having a romance in the house was “dangerous”.

“It was dangerous, but it could also be seen as quite comforting knowing that amongst all the chaos, there was one person that I could absolutely rely on and trust, and that goes a long way in the house,” Brenton told The Latch before his entrance into the house.
“I knew that even if I didn’t have an identical gameplay as her, our intentions were always the same, and I could count on her to look after me.”
Of course, meeting in the Big Brother house is not your usual love story, and Brenton admitted that their relationship progression was very different compared to what it otherwise might have been in the real world.
“Time, in general, is such an interesting thing in the house because firstly, it doesn’t exist. You don’t have clocks or watches,” he said.
“And secondly, if you think about when you meet someone new on the outside world, it might take three to six months to really get to know them. You have different encounters, you have different experiences, you have different conversations but [in the house] all these things get crammed into a short period of time, like, within days.”
While we haven’t watched their romance play out on TV, we still had only one question. Are they still together?
“There’s only so far you can go with someone in the house when you’ve got like 400 cameras on you,” Brenton said.
“And then there are challenges in the outside world that get in the way for Christina and me to see each other regularly. She lives in Melbourne and I live in Sydney. We don’t know what will happen in the future.”
