While an emerging travel trend is seeing a brave bunch of grown-ups taking adult gap years, many of us merely dream about a life on the road, travelling through cities and towns and visiting the world’s most beautiful sites.
We believe it impossible to have a working professional life that still allows us the opportunity to travel and live abroad, but what if there was a job out there that allowed us to have it all?
Well, Airbnb is offering the once-in-a-lifetime chance to do just that, by recruiting 12 people from all over to ‘Live Anywhere‘ exclusively within Airbnb listings for a whole year.
“Whether it’s joining Zoom meetings by the beach, taking family on the ultimate road trip, or spending time living in the outback – participants can make anywhere their home for a year,” Airbnb said in a release.
The trade-off? Airbnb only asks that you share your experiences with them to help inform their future product upgrades and innovations on the platform “to better accommodate nomadic living”.
While you’ll get to experience a different pocket of the world for a whole year, Airbnb will also cover the cost of accommodations (basically pay your rent) and will even provide an allowance for transportation during the stay.
If you maintain your full-time job during the program, you’ll have almost no overheads. So yeah, it’s a pretty sweet deal. They’ll also help hook you up with local experiences, so you can really immerse yourself in the community and culture of the destination you choose to stay in.
The best part? Just about anyone can apply for this dream role. “From young families to remote workers, creatives, empty nesters, and more, we are seeking a diverse set of 12 individuals from across the globe who can be part of the program.”
You only need to be over 18 years old and ready and willing to travel either solo or with up to three companions for 12 consecutive months from July 2021 to July 2022.
