Got a Spare $5 Mil? Secure Permanent Amalfi Vibes With This Adelaide Mansion

Adelaide home

Sure, the Amalfi Coast is beautiful to visit, but what if you could have that scenery all year round — right here in Australia? While we’re fortunate enough to have many properties around the country that fit that bill, one in particular stands out for its spaciousness, elegant design features and $5 million price tag.

The home in question is 14 Delamere Avenue, a Mediterranean resort-style mansion in Adelaide suburb Nertherby, which is currently on the market and seeking expressions of interest over $5 million. If you consider that the home features five bedrooms and no less than eight bathrooms, and that many one-bedroom apartments in Sydney sell for close to $2 mill, it really is a bargain when you think about it.

So, what else will $5 million get you? Well, in addition to the five bedrooms and eight bathrooms, you’ll also get a formal lounge and dining room, a kitchen with a butler’s pantry, a home theatre, a library, two laundries, a lift and an undercover outdoor area, complete with 15m solar-heated lap pool and landscaped gardens.

Walking into the home, you’ll step into the ‘Great Room’, the formal lounge and dining area, which has over 3m-high ceilings and a chandelier. This leads into a kitchen with marble benchtops and Miele stainless steel appliances, including two ovens and two dishwashers. The kitchen flows into the undercover alfresco dining terrace, equipped with a fireplace and a gas BBQ overlooking the pool and gardens.

Take the lift or walk up the timber staircase to reach the bedrooms. There, the master bedroom has an ensuite with walk-in wardrobes, as well as a balcony looking out onto the city. While four bedrooms are on the upstairs level, you’ll find the fifth on the ground level. It’s a private apartment, also with its own ensuite and walk-in wardrobe, and a living area with a games room and gas log fireplace.

The garage accommodates three cars, while still offering space for storage. And the home works to be energy efficient with five separate air-conditioners and ceiling fans for each bedroom, plus a 90,000L underground rainwater tank that provides an automatic irrigation system to the grounds.
