Adam Liaw

Masterchef Australia season two winner Adam Liaw is now the host of a brand new food series on for SBS Food — The Cook Up with Adam Liaw — which will premiere on the network in April.

The chef, presenter and author of five cookbooks will be joined by a slew of celebrity friends as they cook up delicious recipes while having fun and engaging in great conversation. Each of the 200 episodes — the biggest commission in SBS history — will revolve around a theme, whether it be an ingredient, a style of cuisine or cultural inspiration.

The series will be full of easy to follow recipes and tips for viewers to follow at home in time for dinner while serving up inspiration for foodies and non-foodies alike.

Joining Liaw for the 30-minute episodes will be fellow celebrity chefs such as Colin Fassnidge, Christine Manfield, Giovanni Pilu, Jock Zonfrillo, Danielle Alvarez, Mark Best, Palisa Anderson, Frank Shek, Mark Olive and Ross Lusted along with well known Aussie media personalities such as Joel Creasey, Myf Warhurst, Yumi Stynes, Mark Humphries, Marc Fennell, Jessica Rowe, Benjamin Law, Kumi Taguchi, Mikey Robbins and Jane and Jimmy Barnes.

Regular segments such as Food for Thought will feature Adam’s cooking tips and techniques, ‘Food vs Truth’ will break down some common food myths, and Food Fight will see the guests be tested on their culinary knowledge with a quiz.

SBS Food’s Managing Editor, Farah Celjo, will also present two segments Following Food and Top 5’s, sharing what’s trending online in the world of food — guaranteeing that every episode is chock full of fun food content.

Liaw expressed his excitement and gratitude in a press statement saying: “I’ve been lucky enough to film some amazing food series throughout my career, but nothing compares to The Cook Up, by far the biggest project I have ever undertaken.

“I can’t wait for SBS audiences to join my guests and I as we chop, chat and sauté our way through simple and delicious meals each evening. The Cook Up will hopefully help Australians expand their repertoire and add some extra flavour to their home cooking.”

The Cook Up with Adam Liaw is an SBS Original and will air weeknights on SBS Food from Monday April 19 at 7.00pm and 10.00pm.

The series is available after broadcast on SBS On Demand.
