A Free 24-Hour Dance Party Is Coming to Sydney So Get Ready to Throw Shapes

When was the last time you were on a packed dancefloor, surrounded by sweaty strangers, dancing your face off to your favourite songs?

It’s been a long time between drinks (and dances) but it’s time to shake your groove thing once more and burn up the dance floor all night long — and we mean all night long.

A 24-hour dance party is set to descend upon Sydney on Saturday 3 July 2021, featuring over 88 musical acts across 12 venues, amounting to 180 hours of entertainment in total. And best of all, it will cost you precisely zero dollars for a ticket.

24 Hour Party, as it is so appropriately named, is the creation of events and hospitality group Solotel, which has joined forces with outfits like Heaps Gay, FBi Radio, Motorik, Picnic and Fruit Bowl and will kick of at 8 am on Saturday, July 3 and run until 8 am Sunday, July 4.

The venues that will be participating in this marathon festival of fun include Kings Cross Hotel, Goros, The Golden Sheaf, The Albion, Barangaroo House, Public House Petersham, The Erko, The Clock, The Marly, The Bank and The Sackville.

Each location will be home to different musical act so it’s up to you how you plan your experience and whether you attempt to hit up as many venues as possible or settle in for the day and night at just one.

In a statement, Solotel Group CEO Elliot Solomon said, “Since dancefloors reopened last month, there’s been an electric energy across our venues – people want to party. Similarly, the excitement among the music and entertainment industry to get back out doing what they do best is palpable.”

As for who will be performing at the day-long event, the line-up is varied and extensive. Recently added to the list are indie-pop Northern Beaches band Lime Cordiale, electronic house dance duo The Aston Shuffle and club DJ Toni Yotzi who join previously announced acts such as Banoffee, Ben Fester, Hayley Mary, I Know Leopard, Jennifer Loveless, Kesmar, Lara Andallo, The Regime, Stevan and Tim Ayre.

See you on the dance floor!
