As we already know, Thor: Love and Thunder, is currently filming in Australia and has brought a slate of A-list actors to the country.
Now, Deadline reports that Russell Crowe has joined the cast of the Marvel blockbuster.
According to the publication, “the hope was to surprise fans with this fun cameo when the film was released, but following recent photos of Crowe hanging out with the cast all over Australia, Deadline has confirmed he is in the movie.”
The actor has since revealed that he will be playing Zeus in the film.
“I’m going to ride up to Disney Fox Studios and around about 9:15, I shall be Zeus!” he told Joy Breakfast radio show.
“It’s for Thor. It’s my last day of Zeus-ing about, and I’m going to enjoy it.”
Crowe joins fellow newcomers Christian Bale, who will play Gorr the God Butcher, and Melissa McCarthy as Hela — a role that was played by Cate Blanchett in Thor: Ragnarok —and Ben Falcone in an undisclosed role.
Taika Waititi is the director of the film which is currently scheduled for a May 6, 2022 release.

Portman has been enjoying the Sydney lifestyle with her family as she reprises her role as Jane Foster.
Tessa Thompson – Valkyrie
According to producer Kevin Feige, Valkryie’s bisexuality will be addressed in Thor: Love and Thunder which will retroactively make her Marvel Studios’ first LGBTQ superhero.
Christian Bale – Gorr the God Butcher
The American Psycho actor joined the cast in January 2020 and will appear as the supervillain, thereby marking the characters live-action debut.
Melissa McCarthy – Hela
The funny lady is filming a slew of projects in Australia including Nine Perfect Strangers with Nicole Kidman and Luke Evans, and will remain on our shores to shoot Netflix workplace comedy God’s Favorite Idiot with her husband and fellow actor, Ben Falcone.
Chris Pratt – Peter Quill / Star-Lord
Pratt will once again inhabit his Guardians of the Galaxy role who is half-human and half Celestial being.

Damon is a big fan of the land Down Under, saying at the time of his arrival, “I’m so excited that my family and I will be able to call Australia home for the next few months. Australian film crews are world-renowned for their professionalism and are a joy to work with.”
