Spotify has revealed a series of original content plans for podcasting in Australia at the Spotify Podcast (R)evolution event in Sydney on February 27.
During the exhibition, a range of new series was announced, including Search Engine Sex — a Spotify Original about sex and relationships hosted by Rowdie Walden, Generation Betoota, a podcast exclusive to the streaming service from the Betoota Advocate and VICE Extremes Season 2, hosted by Julian Morgans.
The streaming giant also announced the return of Sound Up 2020, which is dedicated to “lifting up and amplifying the voices of the First Nations community in Australia.”
“Our goal is to become the number one audio platform in the world, providing the best in audio content, customised, and accessible on-demand everywhere,” Celia Qvist, Spotify’s head of markets said.
“The role our global markets play in this expansion is pivotal and we look forward to making many more announcements in this space.”
At the end of 2019, Spotify released its annual wrap-up of top listens in the country.

The Joe Budden Podcast with Rory & Mal
