It’s official: Aussies love skincare. Sales in skincare and sexual wellness products have massively increased since the nation went into isolation. Social media has been filled with face masks and product recommendations from influencers and beauty enthusiasts, so this data tracks.
According to Fashion Journal, Adore Beauty has experienced an increase in sales of masks, tools and toys. Here’s what you’ve all been spending your cash on these last few months.
★ Face masks
Unsurprisingly, face masks have become an iso fave with Adore Beauty reporting a 61.2% increase in mask sales. The bestsellers include Sand & Sky’s Australian Pink Clay Porefining Face Mask, Erno Laszlo’s Detoxifying Hydrogel Mask and Aspect’s Probiotic Mask, as reported by Fashion Journal.
★ Exfoliators
Somewhat surprisingly, exfoliating products have been slightly more popular than face masks, with sales rising by 62.7%. The top three on the bestselling list is Murad’s Age Reform AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser, Alpha-H Liquid Gold and Cosmedix’s Purity Clean Exfoliating Cleanser.
★ Face tools
With many beauty enthusiasts using gua sha tools on their Instagram Stories, it makes sense that sales of these tools would spike. Coupled with the fact facialists have been out of commission due to COVID-19 restrictions, consumers have jumped on the facial massage trend.
Adore Beauty’s three bestselling face tool products are the Salt by Hendrix Rose Quartz Gua Sha, the Foreo Bear and the Lonvitalite Dermal Roller.
★ Serums
According to Fashion Journal, Adore Beauty has experienced a 32.3% jump in sales of serums. The top three products are Asap’s Radiance Serum, SkinCeuticals’ C E Ferulic Serum and Medik8’s Hydr8 B5.
★ Other
While skincare has been snapped up by buyers, sex toys have also been extremely popular with a 45% increase in sales. The fave toys have been Unbound Palma’s Gold Vibrator Ring, Vush Stimulation’s The Empress and LELO Beads.
Meanwhile, Adore Beauty has experienced the largest sales increase in the home fragrance, with a 105% jump. Lighting a candle and creating some much-needed ambience at home has obviously been a priority for many Australians. The most popular candles are Glasshouse’s Kyoto in Bloom, Cire Trudon’s Ernesto and Lumira’s Cuban Tobacco.
