Season 47 of long-running sketch series Saturday Night Live will premiere on October 4 with BINGE fast-tracking the comedy gold the same day as the US.

It’s set to be a huge season too, with Owen Wilson kicking things off and serving as host for the very first time (which is kind of crazy as you’d think he would have hosted before now) with Kacey Musgraves making her second appearance as musical guest.

The following week, Kim Kardashian West (Keeping Up with the Kardashians) will host SNL for the first time with music sensation Halsey appearing for the fourth time.

On October 18, Emmy and Academy Award-winning actor Rami Malek (Mr Robot, Bohemian Rhapsody) will make his SNL hosting debut with Grammy Award-winning Young Thug performing as musical guest for the first time.

Actor, comedian, producer, writer and former Saturday Night Live cast member Jason Sudeikis (Ted Lasso, Horrible Bosses) will make his first appearance as SNL host on October 25. Also on SNL debut will be six-time Grammy Award winner Brandi Carlile.

Created by Lorne Michaels, Saturday Night Live first aired on October 11, 1975, and has gone on to win 86 Primetime Emmy Awards (out of 252 nominations), four Writers Guild of America Awards, and two Peabody Awards.

The sketch series, which broadcasts live from 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York City, has also launched the careers of some of the world’s most successful comedians including Chevy Chase, Gilda Radner, John Belushi, Eddie Murphy, Adam Sandler, Jimmy Fallon, Tina Fey, Will Ferrell, Amy Poehler, Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Andy Samberg — among many, many others.

Fey’s experience as a writer and director on the series even served as the inspiration for her cult sitcom 30 Rock.

The 2021-22 SNL ensemble includes Aidy Bryant, Michael Che, Pete Davidson, Mikey Day, Chloe Fineman, Heidi Gardner, Colin Jost, Kate McKinnon, Alex Moffat, Kyle Mooney, Ego Nwodim, Chris Redd, Cecily Strong, Kenan Thompson, Melissa Villaseñor and Bowen Yang, featuring Aristotle Athari, Andrew Dismukes, James Austin Johnson, Punkie Johnson and Sarah Sherman.

The 47th season of Saturday Night Live premieres on BINGE on October 4, 2021.
