Your next trip to Bali may be way off in the distance right now, but the opportunity to experience unparalleled luxury on the beachfront, with sunset cocktails in your lounge chair and delicious food and drink, is closer than you think.

No doubt Australia is lacking the all-inclusive resort experience. While we’ve got thousands of amazing hotels, only a smaller number, many of which lie in the Whitsundays, provide a comparable experience to those beachfront hotels in Bali, Fiji other tropical islands, with bars, beach clubs and world-class dining on-site.

But a new resort in Rottnest Island in Western Australia is bringing this in spades, and after 13 years of planning and dreaming, is open and taking bookings. After months of construction, the brand new Samphire Rottnest has been unveiled.

A project by Perth architecture firm, Christou Design Group, the hotel has been designed to complement its raw, natural surroundings, and to “deliver an experience of respectful, understated, barefoot luxury”, according to the Samphire site.

The resort is comprised of 80 guest rooms, 16 of which are larger suites with private balconies, positioned front-row upon the picturesque Thompson Bay.

“Outside your room, a sanctuary of lagoon-like pools, native landscaping and fresh outdoor dining spaces help you sink into the luxury of island life.”

In addition to the luxurious accommodation, of which the interiors feature pale timber cladding, neutral sheer curtains, textural decor and polished concrete flooring, the resort also has two new pools, a restaurant, bar, and beach club. Now we’re talking.

Samphire Rottnest is open for bookings now.
