To the former Real Housewives of Melbourne (RHOM) star, being let go on your own accord is much less “humiliating than being voted out” and admits that she’s had some “really beautiful messages” from fans.
While the support has overall been positive, the property manager does have one gripe. She is still repeatedly asked if she has had work done.
“I want to do a segment one day where I can talk about the accusation that I keep getting about botox and fillers,” Berenger said in an interview with The Latch.
“I can’t stress to you enough that I have not done a bloody thing on my face. I was born this way and I’m happy to strip back and just give people my tips on how makeup is done, where you can enhance your features. I’m getting fed up.”
According to Berenger, she can’t “lose weight without someone saying I had liposuction”.
“I work bloody hard. I don’t eat doughnuts or burgers. I work hard and I eat clean.”
No doubt, Berenger’s turn on RHOM was full of drama, however, she has zero regrets about being on the series.
“The way people perceive, unfortunately, and sadly for all of us — not just me — we all have different attitudes and opinions. But at the end of the day, we are there to entertain,” she said.
“If you watch the show it’s because it’s full of drama then I think we all did a damn good job of it. So, don’t criticise us and tell us we are rotten people. Just accept the fact that the producers were very smart in picking people who actually can be bold, and do what they’re meant to do.”
“Coming from the Housewives and people having a completely different feeling of you, you just go ‘Oh, my gosh, how are they going to take me on the show [I’m a Celeb], but I’m actually blown away at the response.”
The 56-year-old says that going into the jungle taught her that she is strong enough to “survive” if placed in a situation like that in real life.
“I learned that I can actually survive if I was to be placed in a situation one day where there’s nothing around me and have to survive on bare necessities,” she said.
“I know I can do this and if I’m challenged, and if it’s a life and death situation, I know that I will be able to do it.”
I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here continues Sunday-Thursday on Network Ten.
