Mov’in Boat Is The Ultimate Floating Cinema to Experience This Summer

The team behind Mov’in Bed and Mov’in Car are taking their iconic cinema to the seas with Australia’s new summer sensation — Mov’in Boat.

The floating cinema experience is premiering in Sydney’s Darling Harbour from December 2020 to March 2021 and is a spectacular 1000sm floating platform which features 40 rowboats for hire, 65 summer lounge beds and two floating bars.

The screen, which is a 4k 15-metre screen, has 30 surround sound speakers which will create an immersive experience for movie-lovers.

How to experience Mov’in Boat

There are four ways you can experience Mov’in boat.

Hire a rowboat  — Gather your date, your mate or a group of friends (four in total) and relax in these extra comfy boats with tailored seating. As an added bonus, you can even row around the harbour before the movie begins.

Cost: $119.90 per boat (four people)

Queen Size Day Beds on Floating Pontoons — Lie back and relax with up to two (three in total) of your nearest and dearest on an outdoor summer bed, equipped with a bedside table.

Cost: $99.90 for two people or $109.90 for three people.

Star VIP Area — Fancy yourself a very important person? Get access to the best seat in the house featuring bedside tables, umbrellas, complimentary soft drinks, popcorn and access to the VIP bar. Guests will also experience fine dining with pre-ordered food from Table for 2 which boasts a menu from Flying Fish, BLACK Bar and Grill, Sokyo and Fat Noodle.

BYO Boat – Have your own boat? Park it in the BYO area.

Cost: $49.90 per boat (maximum is determined by how many people fit on your boat).

Food and Beverage

Food is available for everyone (even if you’re not in the VIP area). With a wide range of yummy dishes, including pizza, fish and chips, prawn buckets and Nutella waffles, you will not go hungry. The best news of all? It’s delivered by jet ski!

Presented by Brown Brothers, the floating main bar will offer a tailored selection of Australia’s favourite sparkling and premium wines, slushie cocktails and beers and soft drinks.

What about the movies themselves?

You’re probably already sold on the entire experience, however, the movies themselves are just the icing on the cake.

Opening night (Dec 3), features the irresistible Dirty Dancing but other favourites throughout the season include Lion, Tenet, Interstellar, James Bond Goldfinger, Matrix, Casablanca, Elf, The Broken Hearts Gallery, Free Willy, Meg and Death on the Nile.
