Morgan Hipworth is easily one of Australia’s most-known bakers. He has 1.1 million followers on TikTok, wrote a chart-topping cookbook called ‘Made by Morgan’ and founded Melbourne venues Bistro Morgan and Maven Melbourne.
So you’d assume he wouldn’t be fazed by a seven-year-old critiquing his food. You’d be wrong. In an episode of BuzzFeed Australia’s ‘I Draw You Cook’ (which you can catch on 10 Play), the 23-year-old had to create a dish of a blue pirate-slash-octopus drawn by seven-year-old Sam.
Hipworth went up against the show’s host Tanika Douglas who also had the same drawing to use as inspo for her meal. Once both creations were made, it was time for the taste-taste. Hipworth and Douglas watched from the sidelines as Sam critiqued their work.
“Sam’s brutally honest and he definitely does not hold back,” says Hipworth. “It hurts a little bit.”
Will Sam pick Hipworth’s or Douglas’ pirate-octopus dish? And how will Hipworth handle the, um, expert feedback? Catch Hipworth on I Draw You Cook at 3pm and 5pm weekdays and 10am to 12pm weekends in December on BuzzFeed’s Tasty channel on 10 Play.
