Lambert, who was the runner-up during the eighth season of American Idol, last year performed with Queen at the Fire Fight Australia benefit concert which raised money for bushfire relief. The singer has collaborated and toured with the legendary rock group since 2011.
“Live performance has always and will always be at the heart of what I do, so I’m so happy we’ve found a way for it to persist safely in place of my cancelled Las Vegas residency and European tour,” the singer said in a statement.
“The show will be a real celebration, with new songs from Velvet plus plenty of our older favourites, and some brand-new surprises. I look forward to the party we all deserve from wherever in the world you may be!”
Lambert released Velvet, his fourth studio album, in March 2020 and was scheduled to perform a five-date Las Vegas residency and embark on a European tour before the COVID-19 pandemic saw the live music industry grind to halt.
He was also scheduled to continue performing with Queen on the Rhapsody Tour, but dates for those shows have been postponed to later in 2021.
In the meantime, Queen co-founder and drummer Roger Taylor has announced on Instagram that Queen + Adam Lambert Live Around The World is now available to download or rent.
“Hot on the heels of the physical release last year, this compilation of concert highlights captured the world over and chosen personally by Brian May, myself, and Adam Lambert from over 200 shows, will be available digitally to download or rent for the very first time!”, Taylor wrote.
