Here’s How to Watch the Superbowl and Half-Time Show In Australia

Super Bowl

The US may still be in the midst of some of the highest COVID numbers in the world, however, it is not stopping the 2021 Super Bowl from going ahead.

Played in Tampa, Florida, the defending champions, Kansas City Chiefs, are taking on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers a.k.a Tom Brady’s team.

If you’re a keen sports fanatic or just keen to watch The Weeknd’s half-time show, here’s how you can watch America’s biggest sporting event from Australia.

When and What Time Is the Super Bowl?

The Super Bowl kicks off on Monday, February 8, 2021, at 10.30am Australian Eastern Daylight Time.

If you’re hailing from the Sunshine State, the game starts at 9.30am, and to watch in South Australia, coverage starts at 10am.

For our friends in the West, the Super Bowl kicks off at 7.30am.

How Can You Watch It?

If you’re lucky enough to have the Monday off work, or can cheekily put it on in the background, you can watch the Super Bowl live and free to air on Channel 7.

The coverage will start 30 minutes prior to the game and will be acquiring the CBS feed.

If you’ve got Foxtel, switch on to Fox Sports which is channel 509 and for Kayo subscribers, coverage starts from AEDT 10 am.

Who Is Performing In the Half-Time Show

Last year it was a Latina fiesta with Jennifer Lopez and Shakira and this year, the Weeknd will be taking centre stage.

The 30-year-old, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, has already spent $9 million USD on sets to make it a “cinematic experience” and a feast for the eyes.

According to Billboard, the singer’s splashed the cash to “make this halftime show be what he envisioned” and will last 24 minutes.

Super Bowl Odds

According to Sporting News, Kansas City is the favourites to win, paying $1.57 to Tampa Bay’s $2.41.
