Friends may have ended 16 years ago, but it’s still one of the most popular TV sitcoms of all time. And in some pretty exciting news, every episode is coming to Netflix and Binge on September 17. (Currently, all 10 seasons of the show are on Stan.)
This exciting addition is the perfect remedy after Friends fans — and let’s face it, the cast — who have been disappointed by the fact that the highly-anticipated reunion has continuously been postponed due to the global coronavirus pandemic.
The unscripted special was originally set to be filmed in March and was later pushed to May. Now, there’s no set date.
In an interview with Deadline, Jennifer Aniston expressed her disappointment saying that it was just an “unsafe” time to do it.
“Unfortunately, it’s very sad that we had to move it again. It was, ‘How do we do this with live audiences? This is not a safe time. Period. That’s the bottom line. It’s not a safe time to do it.”
However, she has chosen to look at it with a “glass half-full” approach saying that “It’s going to be super.”
“You know what? This has also given us more time to make it even more exciting and more fun than it would have been,” she said, before adding that they’re “not going anywhere”.
“You’re never going to get rid of Friends, sorry. You’re stuck with us for life guys,” she said. Aww, Friends is our lobster, you guys!
The special will see Aniston joined by fellow Friends stars Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry and will be shot on the series’ original soundstage, Stage 24, on the Warner Bros. lot.
Thankfully, we will now have two places in Australia to watch our favourite pals, and while we won’t see the reunion just yet — that is pretty darn close enough.
