Emma Stone’s Unique Engagement Ring Has an Unexpected Twist

Emma Stone recently stepped out showing off her new engagement ring — and we’re obsessed.

After her fiance Dave McCary shared a close-up picture of it on his Instagram, the world got a closer look, and needless to say, she’s surely kick-started a new trend. The actresses’ ring has a few features we could’ve expected, but with one major plot twist. The gold band, pave diamonds, and vintage design are all quite classic — but the big pearl in the centre is truly one-of-a-kind.

Rather than going with a traditional diamond, Stone’s fiance opted for an 8mm pearl. While pearls have been a major jewellery trend all year long, this is one of the first celebrity engagement rings we’ve seen featuring the classic jewel.

Designed by a Tokyo-based brand, Kataoka, the ring is at once modern and classic: Which seems perfectly fitting.

Harper’s Bazaar reports that the engagement ring is likely a good indicator of jewellery trends to come in 2020 — and now that Emma Stone has kicked it off, we have no doubt that Google searches for “pearl engagement rings” are about to spike.
