6 Stunning Places on the Central Coast to Park Your Campervan for Lunch

Central Coast campervan spots

I’ve always been a bit of a wanderer — road trips, coastal walks, and picnics in random scenic spots. Being surrounded by nature has always been my happy place. So when my partner and I had our little one, we were determined not to give up that sense of adventure.

We tried out the Apollo Euro Deluxe Motorhome, which let us cruise around our home area of Central Coast and set up lunch in spots with views you’d usually have to pay a small fortune for. Fortunately, the Coast is full of those spots. Places where you can park the camper, soak up the views and enjoy a dining experience that’s both luxe and laidback.

Here are some of our favorite spots that prove lunch in a campervan can feel anything but ordinary.

Shelly Beach Holiday Park

This one’s a no-brainer for dog owners. Shelly Beach Holiday Park offers powered sites and is next to the beach. You can park up, set the van’s table with your lunch spread and enjoy ocean views while the little one plays in the sand. There’s even a surf club café nearby if you’re in the mood for a sneaky barista-made coffee.

Umina Beach Holiday Park

Umina is a hidden gem for families. The holiday park has everything—powered sites, a playground for kids, and picnic tables with beach views. You can cook up a quick lunch in the van’s kitchenette, and if your toddler needs to burn off some energy, there’s plenty of space to explore. Bonus: the views of Broken Bay are *chef’s kiss*.

The Entrance Foreshore

A classic Central Coast spot that never disappoints. There’s plenty of legal parking for campervans, and you’re treated to views of the water, pelicans waddling about, and a chilled vibe. We love picking up some fish and chips from a local shop and eating them right by the water. It’s simple, but the views make it feel next-level fancy.

Norah Head Lighthouse Reserve

Lighthouse views? Yes, please. Norah Head has parking that works for campervans, and you can set up lunch overlooking the dramatic cliffs and crashing waves. If you’re feeling active, there’s a little trail down to the beach, or you can just let the views do the heavy lifting while you enjoy your meal.

Patonga Beach Reserve

Patonga feels like a secret hideaway. There’s a designated picnic area with plenty of parking, so it’s easy to pull up in the campervan. The beach is calm, perfect for toddlers to splash around in, and the shady trees make it ideal for a relaxed, breezy lunch. Pro tip: grab some takeaway from the nearby Boathouse Hotel if you don’t feel like cooking.

Toowoon Bay

Toowoon Bay is a favourite for families. There’s a picnic area with parking that’s campervan-friendly, and the sheltered beach is great for kids. You can throw together a quick salad or sandwich in the van’s kitchen and enjoy it with a view of the sparkling water. It’s serene and totally worth the stop.
