Actor and comedian Bob Odenkirk is working on a memoir, to be released in 2022.
The tome, titled Comedy Comedy Comedy Drama: A Memoir, will delve into Odenkirk’s storied career which started in dingy comedy clubs and led to the Breaking Bad star becoming a writer on legendary sketch show Saturday Night Live.
Odenkirk is also famous for having created the sketch series Mr Show with Arrested Development star David Cross — a project that many working comedians today credit with having inspired their own careers.
Of course, many will best know the actor for his portrayal of Saul Goodman — first in Breaking Bad where the character originated and subsequently in the spinoff series Better Call Saul for which he has been nominated for four Golden Globes and nine Primetime Emmy Awards.
Aside from comical stories and anecdotes, Comedy Comedy Comedy Drama, which is being published by Random House, will also feature never-before-seen photos from the actor.
Odenkirk was most recently seen in the action-thriller film Nobody, for which the 58-year-old actor trained for two years in order to perform his own stunts.
During his appearance on the Smartless podcast with Jason Bateman, Will Arnett and Sean Hayes, Odenkirk explained that the film had been somewhat inspired by his own experience of a traumatic home break-in he and his family had experienced.
“I tried to keep things cool,” the actor said. “It leaves you feeling like, ‘gosh, I mean, what else could I have done and what should I have done and how should I be prepared?’ And, and, but if I had done something, what would have happened then?
Comedy Comedy Comedy Drama will be released on Jan. 18, 2022, in hardcover and digital formats with Odenkirk providing the narration for the audiobook.
